Deep Dish Pizza: Since Barack Obama is a Senator from Illinois serve a classic Chicago-style deep-dish pizza.
Chicken fingers: Joe Biden is a Senator from Delaware. Delawareans love their chicken and the state is famous for its poultry. So, in honor of Biden, serve some chicken fingers
Southwestern Food: John McCain is a Senator from Arizona. Pay tribute to this veteran politician from Arizona by offering Southwestern style cuisine like fajitas or chili rellenos (or stuffed green peppers)
Fish Sticks: Sarah Palin is the Governor of Alaska where fishing is a major industry. Serve fish sticks in honor of Governor Palin.




Make an game out of each state’s decision. Buy Jelly Bellies or M&M’s in red and blue and let everyone have one of the color for each state’s winner.


You may want to have sleeping bags and pillows so the littlest ones can fall asleep while the final results are coming in.

I Should Go to Bed...

Not pretend I would like to cut my hair! It's midnight. I was brushing
my hair to get ready for bed and I thought it would be fun to pin my
hair up & see how it would look short- even though I want to grow it
out. Oh, the things we (or at least I) do when we're beyond fatigued.

Visiting Dad on Krew's Birthday

Nate made a throne for the boys during Krew's Happy Birthday song.

It Seemed Like...

a good idea at the time!
I was down to a few drops of liquid dish soap and thought I would just
stick the bottle in the dishwasher to put every last drop to good use.
Now our dish washer doesn't work and bubbles are everywhere. Nate said
that he will literally bring the hose in and spray it out tomorrow.
Oooops!

My Brother ...

Garrett (20), died yesterday. Wow, that is hard to type and even harder to say out loud (accidental drug over dose). I am numb and wanting to just sit and cry. He was a great brother and uncle. I could not have asked for better. I loved him so much and he will be missed. I can't imagine getting passed this without crying or wanting to throw up when I hear his name or see his picture- which is why I don't want to post a picture. (He was the bodybuilder that did the Napoleon Dynamite dance for his competition last year. Under "britt's family" labels I am sure I have pictures of him, but I am not looking through any of my files today to post one here).

This puts life into perspective. It's sobering.
