a good idea at the time!
I was down to a few drops of liquid dish soap and thought I would just
stick the bottle in the dishwasher to put every last drop to good use.
Now our dish washer doesn't work and bubbles are everywhere. Nate said
that he will literally bring the hose in and spray it out tomorrow.
Oooops!

Oh Brittany, that is hilarious. It looks like a huge mess! To be an honest, when I started I thought it was a great idea to get your money's worth out of the dish washing soap. Thanks for letting me learn my lesson without having to clean up the mess!
Also, I am glad you figured out blogging from your phone so you can post more!
HA that is hilarious! I am so sorry you have to clean up the mess. When we were in college Aaron's roomate put laundry soap in the dishwasher and there was soap everywhere, ha! A little flashback.
Done this myself, its an amazing mess but the dishwasher worked fine after awhile!!!
Oh No! It has to happen to everyone once in their life I'm sure. But it's usually the husbands that use regular dish soap trying to be helpful. I need to figure out blogging on my phone too.
Nice Brittany, it sounds like an episode of the Brady Bunch. Well, maybe if it was you wouldn't have tried it in the first place:)
Jared did this exact same thing like three days ago. We were out of soap for the dishwasher so he just filled 'er on up with soap from the sink. huge mess. kinda funny to see though, I'd only seen bubbles explode like that in movies!
For the next time, and there will be with kids...
After you stop the machine, dump all the towels on the floor to absorb the mess, remove the bottom rack. Use 1/2 C white vinegar and pour into base of dish washer. Slosh it around with your hand. If there are still lots of bubbles, add 1 C. of olive oil. If there are still bubbles pour Mortons salt into your hand and toss it in (a fist-full), till the bubbles die. Gather up as much as you can with paper towels and toss in trash. Run the rinse cycle and check the machine. If there are still bubbles coming out, use more olive oil. Once you have a clear running rinse, run 1/2 C of baking soda in the dish washer without any soap in it. This should clean the rest of the gunk from the machine. Make sure all of the vinegar is gone FIRST or your dishwasher hose may have some issues.
IF you are still having problems with the machine, let me know and I'll send you out a bottle of my cleaner...it will do the job. I'm using my new cleaner now on everything; dishes, bathrooms, car engine, fixtures and soap scum. Let me know if you need it.
