Batman

I don't usually like to let my boys leave the house in costumes (I know I'm a mean mom), but last week I was not wanting a fight with Matix. I let him wear a cape to Krew's school performance. I could hear people saying how cute he looked & that they remember when their child wore Batman or Superman stuff all the time. Matix enjoyed the day because of his cape.

A Case of the Stripes

I decided to help my little sisters, Nicole and McCall, do a room make over. It was fun mixed with stressful & time consuming! We did two walls. The one in the picture is the shorter of the two. There is a whole other wall with a bed plus 2 doors. A lot of taping! We aren't quite done, but luckily the painting is. I still want to put up black curtains and a really cute wall decoration.

District Shopping

I took my boys to The District the other day to get some window shopping in. They were pretty well behaved!
Nixon was entertained with water in the tray of his stroller. He has such a goofy smile- He usually clenches his gums and closes his eyes.

All the shopping and running around wore my three monkies out!

Yoga Night

We had a fun night doing yoga last night. Go girls! Everyone stayed in the room for the full 90 minutes. Our instructor is in the middle- he was a hilarious Australian guy. He moved our mats all around the room, not letting us be next to each other, he said we would giggle if we were next to each other. It was a fun night. See you all next week!

Hair Pins

I found these on Etsy and love them!

Ironmen

Nate & Jeremy were both wearing their Ironman hats during the race. They both did the Ironman in 2006. Nate did his race in Arizona and Jeremy did his in Idaho. You have got to be slightly crazy to do this extent of a triathlon. It took nearly 15 hours for Nate to finish a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and then 26.2 mile run. Crazy!

RAGE Triathlon

Nate and our friend, Jeremy did the RAGE triathlon, sprint distance, on Saturday out at Lake Mead.

Nate recruited Jeremy the night before to be his race buddy. They had fun and did well- just over 2 hours.

Super Large Pizza

Friday night we went out to Pizza with Jeremy & Meg Neff for a pre race carb load up. Since Nate and Jeremy were the racers they got dibs the food choice after we picked up race packets.

Nate & I thought it would be fun to order the largest pizza Metro Pizza made to suprise the Neffs. I ordered it on our way there to get it cooking. When we got there Meg was looking at the menu wondering if I had ordered enough pizza. I told her I had ordered one large cheese pizza. She was still concerned I had miscalculated their amount of hunger. I hadn't told her it was a 30'' large pizza. The pizza had a table of its own next to us!

Stomp Out Loud

We took Krew & Matix to Stomp on Thursday Night and they enjoyed it, especially Matix. Krew complained that it was too loud. But he was also tired.

Matix's Birthday Gift

Nate came home from work with this for Matix. I spent an hour putting it together, the directions were not written well at all!

Nudity!

It was funny to walk by Gap at Town Square last week and see a bunch of naked mannequins. Every single one was naked.
I know I should grow up, but I just had to laugh. And so did Krew, so I have the humor of a 4 year old. Oh well. I made Matix stand in front of the store so that the employees would maybe think I was taking a cute picture of my kid and not their undressed store!

Grocery Shopping

I don't enjoy grocery shopping with my three boys very much, but today I needed to go. I have not had milk in the house since probably Friday or Saturday. I needed to get the staples restocked and poor Matix was in the middle of it all. It was a long shopping trip!

Baby Delivery Recovery

I have some friends & family members having babies in the next couple months and have had requests for this information. I have a list of musts for recovering from a delivery that I swear by. My physical recoveries have gone quickly because of these items. My aunt Becky gave me the inside info on these things and what's funny is that when I ask the nurses for some of these things the light bulb goes off in their head. Like duh! I knew you needed that. They don't offer most of the items, but grab them the moment you ask.

The List
Tucks medicated pads
Dermoplast antiseptic spray
Maxi pads with wings
Sitz bath (available in the hospital)
Colace stool softener
Advil/ Tylenol
Ice pack (floppy blue bottle to fill)
Squirt bottle
Cabbage

I will keep updating this list, but if there is anything that you would add for you hospital bag or recovery let me know! And I will keep updating this list.

Expensive Kids

When I was told kids were expensive I thought of the typical necessities like diapers, clothes and food. I am starting think that is not what expensive means especially with boys.

Expensive = paying to replace damaged items

This morning I ran to blockbuster to rent Juno before everyone else. I had a couple of movies to return. One being the boys' movie choice. The problem was they got the cover out of the movie box and ripped it up. For fun I guess! The store manager told me he couldn't rent the movie without a cover. Lucky us- we bought a stupid blockbuster exclusive movie for $20 and rented Juno. I got the short end of this deal. Small charge, but this is not the first damaged item to replace nor will it ever end!

Happy Birthday Matix!

A Couple weeks Old . . . Now 3 Years Old!

Skater Couture

Our boys are all named after skate companies- Krew by accident but we then decided to make it a trend for Matix & Nixon. So when I was in the Juicy Couture store a little while ago I convinced Nate I deserved the adorable skateboard charm and chain I saw. So Cute! My boys love it.

Relaxing Bathtime

Matix decided to take a bath with the entire bottle of my "relaxing" bubble bath. Needless
to say this did not relax me!

Baked Potato ... Ice Cream Sundaes

April Fools to my boys!

Nate was not too amused with our desert choice. He just glared at me like I was crazy for a moment and then said he wanted chocolate chip cookies.

Directions: Place 3 generous scoops of ice cream on each sheet of plastic wrap; gather ends lengthwise and mold into the shape of a baked potato. Set each on a sheet of aluminum foil and wrap to hold in place; transfer to freezer to firm, about 1 hour. Unwrap frozen "potatoes," and coat with cocoa powder. Draw a knife through the cocoa on top of each "potato" to expose the inside. Top with whipped cream, green sprinkles for "chives," and "butter pats." Serve immediately with chocolate sauce.
My boys didn't love them though- the cocoa powder was a little bitter for them, so maybe just chocolate ice cream would work.

Featured on Martha Stewart

I found this blog a little while ago and spent a Saturday reading it. I love cupcakes! This blog has tracked them for 4 years and counting. Martha Stewart had the three girls that run the blog on her show today. What a fun job!

Corn on the Cob!?

Cupcakes anyone?

Martha Stewart featured these cupcakes for her April Fool's show.
Vanilla cupcakes decorated with jelly beans, yellow starbursts & black sugar.
April Fool's might have to pop up another day this month so that I can make these!
